Pictures courtesy of MM1 Lloyd G. Miller (Deceased)
I am enclosing a partial set of photographs from my father’s collection. He died in 2003. He was on the crew of the Helena at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He was a survivor from the sinking of the Helena on July 6, 1943. He next served on the U.S.S. Houston (the new Houston – CL 81) until September 1944. He was on the crew of both the U.S.S. Benner and the U.S.S. Mansfield, but I do not recall which order. I am reasonably sure that the pictures I am sending are from the Mansfield. You are granted permission to use the photographs so long as they are credited from the collection of Lloyd G. Miller, MM1. I believe that most if not all of the photos are from 1946. Unfortunately, few photos had any notations with them. There is included in these photos my father and a friend of his Tom Mazi. Tom was a plank owner with the Mansfield.
Thank you. Spencer Miller
